　　Applicants can only apply and be considered for a Vice-Chancellor’s International scholarship after they have been offered a place to study on their chosen degree course and have been assessed as international for fees purposes. They must also be:

　　registered at Newcastle University for the 2017/18 academic year.

　　registered for one of the following eligible courses:

　　Undergraduate - All undergraduate degrees including integrated Masters

　　Masters - MA; MArch; MBA; MClinDent; MClinRes; MEd; MFA; MMedEd; LLM; LLM (by research); MLitt; MMus; MPH; MRes; MSc

　　wholly or partially self-financing

　　defined as ‘international’ for fee purposes

　　registered to study at Newcastle University city centre campus

　　students new to the University and not those transferring or repeating courses.

　　Applicants should note that the following students are not eligible to receive Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships:

　　UK or EU students assessed as ‘home’ for fee purposes.

　　MPhil, doctoral (eg,PhD, Integrated PhD, EngD, DClinPych), Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Newcastle University intercalating students or placement, study abroad or exchange students. MSc Hydroinformatics and Water Management (Euro Aquae) students are not eligible for this award.

　　Academic offer holders on an eligible course who have been assessed as international for fees purposes will be invited to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship. Details of how to apply will be emailed within 10 working days of an academic offer being made.

　　You will continue to receive £3000 in each year of your course provided you achieve an average mark of over 65% in your studies the previous year.

　　Sports Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis and are available to undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, as well as current students. Scholarships are reviewed annually and we encourage applications from any year of study.

　　All sports scholarship applicants will be required to demonstrate previous and current sporting achievements and have a commitment to continue improving in their sport and representing the University.

　　Selection criteria are based upon senior or age group representative honours at national and/or regional level. Individuals who are part of National Governing Body (NGB’s) performance squads will also be considered.

　　Emphasis is placed on awarding scholarships to athletes competing in one of our Performance Clubs, the clubs applicable are;

　　If you're a care leaver and interested in joining us, we can support you financially with a scholarship.

　　Undergraduate care leavers

　　We offer a range of support to students who are care leavers. If you have experienced Local Authority Care for a period at least three months during the 10 years before entering Newcastle University you will receive financial support of at least £2,000 per year.

　　This would usually be through our Opportunity Scholarships.

　　If you do not receive this award on entry to the University, please contact us to discuss this further.

　　Eligibility criteria

　　To be eligible for at least £2,000 per year you must:

　　register as a student of Newcastle University for the academic year in which we consider you for the scholarship

　　not have been living independently for longer than five years prior to starting university

　　have applied for the maximum statutory funding from the Student Loans Company unless supported by other public funds for these costs (eg fees)
